"War Room's" Priscilla Shire speaks about the Power of Prayer!

Prayer Corner (Closet) --No matter where you choose, make sure that you have a quiet place to go, and be alone to pray, and to listen for God's voice and direction. It can be a room in your house, a corner in your office, or a place outside in the woods, or anyplace that you can be alone. Bring your Bible, something to write with, and a journal or some blank post-it notes. A chair or something to kneel on is fine, but don't make it too comfortable. This is not just your time to relax, but to seek God's peace and presence. Read your Bible, talk about your concerns with God, and listen for His answers. They may not always come at once. Learning to wait on the Lord develops patience and trust. Write down your prayers and save them in plain view, on a mirror, a wall, or in your journal. This way you can pray over them several times a day, and you can also see when God has answered you, and write His answer down as well, as a reminder to give thanks. Answers may come through reading the Word (Bible), by the wise counsel of true friends, or by thoughts that He places in your heart. As you spend more time with the Lord, you will learn to discern God's voice, like a whisper. You will know that God is guiding you and healing you, because of the joy and peace you have in your spirit, and the renewing of your mind. You will no longer be so concerned with what you want, but instead will want to find out what God's purpose is for your life: to serve others, and to glorify Him by using the unique talents and abilities He has given you. Amen.
